Over the past few months there have been so many mail issues. All of which I have had to discover, or my clients have discovered and tell me that my mail isn't working. I have customers sending me mail now to my personal mail address because of these problems. Today I have customers saying they are getting bounce backs saying my email address does not exist on the mail server. On my end it looks like everything is working, I can log in, send mail, etc.
Meanwhile, There is no website that Zoho provides showing me what problems might be going on, no email to me saying "hey we are (or were) having problems that affected your account.", nothing. No updates.
Thanks Zoho, I'll be looking into another service since you can't seem to keep your mail servers operating properly and/or inform me of issues properly.
The concern is I had important email that was sent to me, a number of people were included on it, and it took 4 hours for me to "discover" that email never made it to me, nor was I alerted that email was completely lost. Email servers usually have redundancy built it to make sure email goes through eventually. In this case, Zoho knew there was an issue because they bounced a bunch of my email and alerted my customers but -never- was I alerted to the issue. This makes me wonder... how many other times did I lose email and was never the wiser? Did I lose business as a result? Who knows? How can I trust Zoho anymore with my business email?
And leave your customers in the dark as to wether or not they missed emails that will never be delivered to them. Nor does Zoho give us a means to see when there was 'unintentional and unplanned' service disruptions.
Do you guys not see why this is a problem?!? Mail just disappearing without anyone knowing?!? Ridiculous!
Most of Zoho services are down again. Not sure if Zoho realizes it since they admit to having customers tell them if there are any problems rather than be proactive to keep their services up. It's up, it's down, it's up for a few seconds, then down again. This is happening way too much to be respected as a service used by businesses. If it wasn't such a pain in the *** to switch services I would have done so by now. Each time it goes down it reminds me it is something that I HAVE TO DO BECAUSE THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I just wish I wasn't so busy.
And still no website alerting users of downtime. Zoho would rather keep us in the dark than be transparent. Worthless.
So I waited 10 minutes for forums.zoho.com to come back on-line so I can write this post. I discovered http://status.zoho.com which posts the status on their services and when there is service disruptions. I can say for a fact that this website is a lie because most of Zoho services are down on Verizon, Comcast, and through my VPN provider which gives me a tunnel to another part of the country. All of these services are disrupted on several networks, and on all of my devices (computer, phone, tablet, etc.) Yet status.zoho.com clearly states that everything is perfectly fine. B.S.!
It looks like status.zoho.com is indicating that mail is down. It's been over an hour since it started. Glad it finally caught up. I wonder if the data will still be there tomorrow or if it will say everything has been peachy all week. Attached a screenshot for posterity. It's having a hard time because these forums keep going up/down as well.
Mail is super slow today. Before yesterday I would get messages within a few seconds of clients sending them. Today I sat on the phone with clients trying to make up conversation instead of talking about why I still haven't received the mail they sent and want me to look at. Between 3 and 5 minutes is how long it is taking.
We checked with our technical team and found that it might have showed SMTP down because the ISP would not have been able to reach our server. However, after analysis, we see that SMTP was working even at that moment.
If Zoho SMTP is not getting connected, take a traceroute for smtp(DOT)zoho(DOT)com and send the results to support(AT)zohomail(DOT)com so that we can check and assist you further.
