On my android phone I use my zoho calendar by sharing it with the google calendar. This worked for a while but since some time events don't come through anymore, which is very annoying. Many users report about simular problems on google fora, but google cannot solve it or does not give priority to this. I wonder how Android can ever become a serious business application if a basic requirement as a calendar doesn't work. Enough chances for ZOHO to step in! If zoho could provide us a good android app to approach the zoho calendar many people would be happy to say goodbye to their gmail calendars. I would be the first to use it!
It is now March 2, 2011 and I have seen no solutions regarding Zoho
syncing to Android devices. I recently became an Android convert and
have been trying to move all my mail and calendar over to Zoho so that
all of my eggs aren't in Google's basket.
I've searched the forums and have seen the mention of Active Sync for
Mail and Calendar by the Zoho support staff as far back as 2008
(https://forums.zoho.com/topic/calendar-sync?). It's been 3 years and
Zoho has minimal mobile support.
Please catch up to the big players. I like your products and wish to see
some more competition in this realm. You have a lot to offer and will
go way beyond once you get this mobile thing figured out.
Maybe instead of working on Active Sync work on Apps for the given platforms.
Still not working, I think this is a android/google bug. My next business phone will NOT be an android anymore. The only way to show my ZOHO agenda is to surf to https://mobile.zoho.com/calendar and save it as a widget. To see my appointments I open the widget and refresh with the TODAY button. Not ideal but at least it works. The idea I posted in January was more or less to pimp this widget with some basic settings so that you can store your logon data, start with current day without pressing today everytime and be able to work offline. Shouldn't be too much effort because it's almost there.
It had worked very well for a week on my Moto Defy, but now it slide my appointments a few hours forward. Don't change anything, thought it could be a timezone problem, but it's all set correctly. The edit from the phone is also not possible, which is very annoying. I have disabled the Google Calendar and just use the activesync with zoho. In the account settings is zoho marked with a asterisk, what does that mean? Please bring Zoho to the ultimate business solution, thanks for anything, great great apps!!
*Edit: I have tested it again, my events got pushed 9 hours forward if i create them on my android (Defy aka MB525, unrootet, Version 2.1-update1)
I was having the same question and tried setting my account up both as IMAP and as Exchange ActiveSnyc. I was so frustrated I signed up for the basic level paid account (only $2.50/mo for one user) so I could get phone support.
The phone support I got was good and useful, and we got it figured out on the first call. The tech logged onto my computer and we figured out that for my account (and maybe generally?) it was the password that was messing things up. I could successfully finish the set up only if my password was made up entirely of NUMBERS, no letters or special characters.
So that is the work-around that enabled me to finish my set up on Droid- calendar and emails working great now. Give it a try if you're having this problem. Also, you might want to considered the basic paid account- for $2.50/mo it's worth the peace of mind to me to know I have a problem I can get 800-number support 24/7 M-F. I also did a free 30 day evaluation of the paid service- just ask and they'll get you set up if you are interested in a trial. Hope this helps.
