After supporting Subtask in Projects, adding features like Task duration in hours, Custom views in bugs, API for BugTracker, Dropbox integration etc. keep our engineers busy.
On the other side, making communication & collaboration among team members simpler is on top of our list. Instead of users chasing information, we want to bring all relevant information to the user in one single page. We took some inspiration from Facebook News feed & felt it's very relevant in a Projects context.
Here is a glimpse of what is cooking inside. We are still iterating on different options. We don't have a deadline now but we are very excited to bring these new things to you.

The following are urgently required for efficient/productive use of ZOHO.
- Milestone wise exports
- Maintain subtask order in exported list
- Exclude weekends from Project Schedule
- Provision to add/edit holidays
- Provision to reorder task lists
- Duration - A text box to set duration of task on just OK. But we have to click on duration, then enter/edit date, click OK to finish the process. Instead just put a slider control to increase the date, so that we can achieve same using mouse.
- Export users from a project
- Export all users lists
- Provision to add hourly billing rates and calculate cost of project from time log
- Export/Get a list of users not logged time on a particular day, Project etc
New Project - Template
- Provision use temaplate without dates. Now it a a pain to count date/shift date etc
As a Zoho Alliance Partner I am constantly asked for the ability to track estimate and actual material as well as labour costs. It would be great if we could add some custom fields into tasks so that my clients can track material costs.
I second this comment. There is great potential for this application but my clients are not all software developers. In fact one of the largest sectors for my business is construction. They have lots more resources to management than stafff.
Task duration in hours needs to be worked out for 8 hrs a day. But currently if we give 24 hrs, it is not taking as 3 days, rather it is taking as 1 full day. I believe this is bug, everyone will set the working hour per day is 8 or 9 hours depends upon their business not the 24 hours dimension.
Please check and let us know if there are any other alternatives to achieve 8 hours/day.
There are various ideas here on improvements needed. Could you please indicate which ones have been added to your Todo list and which priority you have added?
I believe there are core changes which are needed which are more useful than having a Facebook-like activity list.
From the above, I would mention:

task duration in hours taken into account hour per day
estimated cost (planned) vs actual cost (logged hours)
improvement in date shifting when using a project template (need to remember original date in template)
For the estimated cost vs actual cost, I agree with Richard. This is often required by customers. We need to have an alternate way based on Zoho Reports to handle this.
In addition, I would remind that we indicated some changes to be done in the concept of duration. This was done in your blog when you announced the hour duration feature. Has this been taken into consideration?
hi can we please have some updates on the development of version 4.0 & what new features it will be rolling out. We're very interested in using this application but the resources management needs to be more feature rich as per the above post
