When I start a search in my emails, regardless of the folder, Zoho is
not showing me all my results. E.g if I search Rosy, emails to or from
Rosy before a certain date don't appear. I have no archived emails
and I am conducting the search properly. I know that it is a fault with
Zoho because when I search the emails on my phone, a list of the missing
results appear but with the sender details, subject line and first line
of the message. It's only when I click the email that all this
information becomes available to me.
Is there a way to resolve this issue as I often need to access old emails.
I'm unable to provide that information because I can't access the emails to give that to you. The emails can't be found in my inbox as if they've been deleted and when I search them the header info isn't there. I've had this account since October yet the emails available to me do not go that far back.
My emails have disappeared so I can't access the headers for
them but you say you can only look into the problem if you have the
headers. There must be another way to investigate the issue. And I am
still facing the same issues but as before, as the email disappears I
lose the header so am not able to give you that information.
I have now forwarded you an email thread with an example of the emails
that have gone missing and screenshots of my searches. With the evidence
of the emails' existence, I do hope that somebody will look into
this for me.
Acknowledge that there was some
technical glitch in our mail storing server which resulted in
viewing/reading issues within our Zoho Mailbox. Our technical team has made a fix
for your account and are still monitoring the servers closely to
ensure this does not occur again.
Hopefully there should not be any
issues in accessing/reading your emails. Please feel free to get
back to us for any further clarifications.
I am having a similar problem. When I search for a keyword or name in both mail and CRM, it will show results for June & August but nothing comes up from July. I can manually search and find what I'm looking for, but this is very frustrating and time consuming. This is not isolated to any specific keyword, but it does seem to be tied to a date range of June 22nd through August 8th. I have submitted this problem to Zoho via chat & email with the requested documentation, but it does not seem that anyone is working on this issue. Please help!
I have the problem too, and it is very annoying that Search does not work as it should. A simple single-word search for a name or a company brings up a great many results, most of which are not relevant to the search term. Right now, a search for the phrase "Just in case" in the Subject has brought up 76 results. After having to scroll through them all, I have found just 3 that are relevant.
Thank you, Barath. Since receiving your response I have tested the Search again, both without quotes and with double quotes as you suggest. Neither approach seemed any different from the other. Too many results still come up, some of which are totally unrelated to my search term, though to be fair I now get fewer results than previously, making the one I want easier to pick out. I guess that is some sort of an improvement.
For better understanding and to make sure that we are on the same page, we would like to discuss this over a phone call where we can walk you through our search system.
Please share your contact details along with your best available time for us to schedule a call accordingly. Please send those details in an email to support (at) zohomail (dot) com with the subject Attn:Barath KR
Thank you for your offer Barath, but I won't be doing that as I am on the verge of setting off on a long journey during which I will be largely out of contact. The point I would like to make about the Search function is that until recently it used to bring up very exact results for me, but it doesn't any longer..
I'm having a similar problem too, when i'm searching for a certain keyword, the response is: "no messages match the search criteria" please refer to the attachment of the picture. Is there any solution for this? please help.
We are also having a problem here as the results are not showing up for some accounts. ultimate wellness is in the account level but when we search for it it never shows up. We do get another ultimate wellness which is a lead and in now way connected to the other. Please let us know why this is happening and how we can fix this. Our sales team is really struggling to find information and this is wasting so much time.
I am having a similar problem, but I don't think its attached to any dates or anything. It just doesn't find all the emails associated with my search. So when i search for all the emails from a specific email, not all of them come up and sometimes none of them. But I can pull them up manually. I just switched from using google and this is about to make me switch back.
I am also having the same problem, if I search for an email using a clients email address it it will bring up some of June, July and September but no sign of the 25 emails in October. I even just wrote an email, sent it and then searched for it with no sign of it. If I manually search for it I can find but is very time consuming if I need to got back 6 months or even 6 days.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Our
technical team has identified that for very few set of
users, there was some inconsistency in fetching search
result. Unfortunately you were one of them (above reported users). We have now fixed
for your account.
There should not be any issues now.
try searching now, you should get proper results. If you
still notice any issue, please mention the term that you
searched and include a couple of sample headers of the mail
that's now showing up in the result to support[at]zohomail[dot]com for us to check the logs and assist you accordingly.
I'm having exactly the same problem. If I search for a word or email address or domain name, it may or may not come up in search, even though I can see it in the inbox. Quotes don't make a difference. Also "List all emails from this sender" can bring up nothing or just a handful of the actual number of emails I have from that sender. And it's not that they're using multiple email addresses, either - I've seen that happen, especially with vendors.
All of these searches and filters worked reliably until a few months ago. It's gradually gotten worse, and now they really don't work at all.
Um, the problem has returned. For several days, it was working great, and I was able to clear out so many old messages taking up room in my email. Now "search" is hit and miss, but "List all emails from this sender" - the most important feature to me - is routinely showing "no results" again.
One more thing, while you are at it, please fix the contact search in the "to" and "cc" fields to look for the string inserted regardless where in the contact name/address list it is found. Example: to find "Christopher.Walken@company", I need to start writing "Chris..." for the address to pop out. If I write "tophe..." or "compa...", it does not return anything. And that's a problem since many people/companies use addresses such as "c.walken" or even "cwalken71" - you just do not get to remember these.
Zoho search is unfortunately inferior to all providers I have ever used. Such a pity for otherwise great service.
I am having the same issue with my search function. Simply does not work, returning "no messages match the search criteria", even when tested with emails that are at the top of the inbox, using the exact email address or subject header. Come on guys, this has got to be better.
Oh well... It's getting worst to worst now. When I search for "Microsoft", nothing is returned at all when dozen of emails should be returned. Seeing how many threads exist about this issue on this forum and for how long people are having this problem I believe that you are incapable to fix it. I'm afraid I will have to switch everything back to Gmail. This is very sad as I was very enthusiastic about using your service. So long!
Also, I sent several support requests and never got a reply. This is not how you are going to keep people using your services.
As I said earlier, my problem returned. It got better for a while last night, but now I just ran a "list all emails from this sender" search, and it found none. Clearly, there is at least the one in the inbox if I was able to use it to run that filter, right? This is a mess. I don't want to switch back to Gmail due to privacy issues, but I can't function like this.
It's still not really fixed for me. Some searches seem to be fine, but others are definitely leaving stuff out. And "list all emails from this sender" searches are almost never picking up the email I'm using to do that function.
...and the problem has just returned. "List all emails from sender" is unreliable. I have three emails from the exact same sender - a newslist subscription - and it returned one of them. All used an identical email address (I know sometimes businesses use various send addresses for different segments of their newsletters - that's not the problem here).
I did some research yesterday on alternate services, and learned a couple of things:
1) This has been going on for a year or more, and apparently just keeps coming back.
2) Unless everyone you email is also using a service with good privacy, your emails are going to be scanned by Google or whomever at the recipient's end anyway, so email privacy is a myth. Go with whatever service has the best features and functionality for you, and don't use email for anything very confidential.
So I'm going back to Gmail after many, many years with Zoho today. I'm not wild about it - there's a lot I prefer about Zoho - but this search issue is a deal-breaker for me, and it's the one thing I can probably rely on Google to get right.
I don't even know what "header" you mean. I sent you an email about this weeks ago, and included headers in that, but of course they're in the trash - that's why I had been "searching" for them, was to delete them.
I'm still able to right click an email, choose "List all emails from this sender" and get 0 results in search. It doesn't even find the email I've clicked on.
I've given up on you guys permanently fixing this, and am moving things over to Gmail. If you're actually interested in fixing it, here's something else I noticed that might provide a clue: "list all emails..." works better on emails from 2016. If I page back to those and do the same search, most of the time all the emails *from 2016 or earlier* from that sender do some up. Something changed in the past few months - some bug got into the system, and it's just not working right for me anymore.
When I first looked up this issue online about 1 month ago, I saw posts from the end January and thought "Oh, many people have search problem with Zoho." Then, rereading the posts I noticed it was dated 2016!
All the Zoho employee cookie-cutter replies stating "We looked into it and fixed your problem" is even more aggravating after reading them for the nth time.
They (Saradh) offered to do a remote session with me, which is nice, but frankly I've been so busy, I don't have time for it. More importantly, I have lost faith in Zoho as a company.
Thinking about going back to Gmail and getting closer to that decision.
See you @ Gmail!
PS - have searched my email and it seems to be working right this minute, but judging by the history of this problem, the fix may not last very long.
Also @Sharadh Shankar, I don't now how to avoid it but I don't like my email address plastered all over this forum. Perhaps you can let me know how to fix this.
We really apologize for the inconvenience you faced.
Please, kindly write a mail to us at support[at]zohomail[dot]com, with your contact number, time of availability and timezone, in reference to this Forum post, so that we could arrange for a remote session along with our Search team and trouble shoot it further.
I'm still having the "list all emails from sender" issues, AND now something worse: Zoho has spontaneously deleted all the emails I was holding onto to test this, from a particular sender. They're just all gone, and they're not in the trash either. I don't know what's going on, but I'm still migrating to Gmail before anything else goes wrong. I use this for my business, not pleasure, so I can't afford to have random problems that I may not immediately notice.
I wrote a blog article years ago that sent you guys a lot of new users - I was among the first to recommend you guys over Google's email and docs/notebook service. I've written endorsements for your website. But changes over the last few years have made things worse instead of better.
Have been experiencing the same search issue ever since it's release and gave up with the new version for quite a while.
The issue being that only 25 results returned from whatever search I entered (in compact email view). Have just worked out that if I reduce the depth of my browser (firefox) window to less than the space needed for 25 results the right hand scroll bar now appears and you can now scroll down find to the remaining results.
Same thing has been happening to me for months...the search function doesn't work. Everytime I am using it, only very old emails or new one are visible, despite the use of advanced research tricks like the "".
We fixed the issue you reported from our end. Cross checked our logs and found that the Search is returning results.
Please check and let us know the status.
Upon analyzing our Search logs, we can see that the mails are getting listed without any issues ( 2017 ).
Kindly get back to us with the Show Original of the mails that's there in your Inbox, but not getting listed in Search, if you feel the issue is existing, so that we could analyze and guide you accordingly.
You can obtain the Show Original by opening the mail, notice the top of the mail preview for Show Original icon ( besides print option ).
Provide the Show Original in a editable format (.txt )
When I try to search something in the email, no results are appearing. I've researched with and without quotes, letters and numbers, and nothing ever appears.
Please check what is wrong with my account.
This is happening with all the emails from psicorretora.com.br
My search function doesn't work either and hasn't worked for quite awhile. I kept waiting for Zoho to fix, but they haven't, so am posting in hopes that someone will post a solution or Zoho will figure out why the search function is not functioning properly.
