I just switched from sales force to zoho. Before was using the hard phones and the 8x8 SalesForce intragration. Now I have to use the SoftPhone for click to call using telify firefox plugin. I would love to see the click to dial functionally for the hardphones.
One issues though....I had to create another text field for the phone number because the default phone field would format for skype. Need to figure how to turn it off. I created a duplicate field formated as text called Google Phone
I set up Google Voice. Using it within Chrome Browser.
If I pull up a list of Leads or Contacts, it works. The mouse-over shows "make a call with Google Voice", and when I click the number, it successfully initiates the Google Voice Call with a small pop-up window.
However, when I am in a specific single Lead or Contact record, Google Voice does not work. The Skype instruction pops up when I click on the number.
If Google Voice would work inside the individual records, this would be at least a step in the right direction for small shops.
Zoho won't be usable in a high call volume environment, though, until a telephone integration is available with business class phone systems providing at least "click to dial" and "screen pop" for incoming calls.
If there are any developers who are interested in working on a project like this, I'd like to hear from you.
You have to use FireFox. I am in manila running a call center. using Firefox and google voice...reps are making about 150 calls per shift. To make click to call work using 8x8...I believe you need access to there back end which they do not allow. I might have to switch to fonality which does come with a click to call dedicated firefox plugin for the fonality system. And they have a API as well.
I am writing a API that integrates call logs into a record. However, the zoho api is very limited.
This all sounds really great. I am interested in setting this up here in Australia.
Fonality distributes the Trixbox in this country, and Zoho have just released a 'phonebridge' for Trixbox, so I am interested in looking at that.
However, Fonality is strongly promoting it's 'virtual or hosted PBX' monthly subscription service model called 'Fonality Connect (formerly Unbound), which avoids the need for a physical PBX device in the office - the entire service is delivered via the web. The Firefox plugin for click to dial may be useful for softphone applications of this (for outbound)...but how to get it to work for inbound would be interesting.
Given the link between Fonality and Trixbox, I am curious whether the Fonality Connect product will be usable with Zoho CRM using Phonebridge...or will that require some software engineering work - access to the API.
If these options aren't possible, I will follow up to see what can be done with Google Voice which has some restrictions in usage here in Australia at the moment.
Interesting thread...I am keen to see how useful Zoho CRM can be in this environment.
8x8 has a program called, "Click2Pop" (Formerly "Click2connect Web Dialer). It plugs into Firefox and IE and adds a green "Call Button" on any phone number that shows up in a browser. I use it all the time, it works great.
PhoneBridge's functionality with TrixBox's cousin, Connect+ from Fonality is zero. This seems to be a function of Zoho lack of desire/cooperation with respect to providing a useful search string that will enable the use of a weblauncher from the Fonality side. Also, Fonality's APIs are not open and accessible, Fonality tells me.
Tenfold offers integration for Zoho and 8x8 and they offer features such as click to dial, automatic call logging, easy note taking and task creation, screen pops on inbound and outbound calls, new lead/contact creation when no matching records, support for cases/opportunities and advanced analytics on the backend. Hope that helps!
