I've been trying to set up the "contextual gadget for gmail". With a name like that, no idea what function it might serve, but here goes.
There's a useless explanation here https://www.zoho.com/crm/help/google-apps/contextual-gadget-for-gmail.html, viz:
"To enable Zoho CRM Contextual Gadget for Gmail
- Go to www.google.com/apps, sign in with your domain name and go to Domain Management.
- Log in to Google Apps domain with the super administrator's privileges.
- From the dashboard, click Enable Service for Zoho CRM.
Zoho CRM's Contextual Gadget for Gmail will be enabled for your domain users."
Well, I followed the steps and I didn't see any "Enable Service for Zoho CRM".
So I went to Google Apps help and searched for Zoho CRM. No mention! Zoho CRM integration must be really important to Google, forgive my sarcasm.
OK how to use this thing? Come on guys, can we have a little bit of basic User Experience testing...?
 Tell me what it does
Show me how to access it!
"Advanced search" is too primitive!
We need the ability to add a second criteria row
connected by the operative "and" or "or"
One should be able to search for (e.g.)
'Job wide' CONTAINS 'banker' and 'mailing country' CONTAINS 'France' OR
'Job wide' CONTAINS 'banker' and 'mailing country' CONTAINS 'Germany'
You implemented the ability to do this in the Views:
But I still find Zoho search difficult, because, really this kind of search fits more naturally in "Advanced Search".
Views are views, they are not supposed to be used for searching. Yet people ARE using them to search, because there is really no other search facility in Zoho CRM
At present, your "Advanced Search" has only minimal search capacity.
You need to give the "Advanced Search" facility extra power.
Linked In has become a key way of referring to people. Because it is how everyone publishes their CVs, it is a useful store of information. It should be a standard field, not something one needs to create a 'custom field' for.
A while ago, I set up a number of Custom Fields. Now I realize I want to delete some. How to make sure there's no data in these fields?
These fields aren't used, so of course they aren't included in my Layouts. So I can't run a search (Basic Search | Edit | Choose column | run search) because, not being in the Layouts, they don't show up.
What to do? How to make 100% sure that I am not deleting data?
I suppose I could include them in the Layout, run the search, check, and then delete.
Is that the recommended route, or is there something simpler?
When tailoring a View to search by and to display search results, Zoho CRM's drop-down selection menu is arranged chaotically. There seems to be no logical order, so it is very hard to find items, i.e., column headings.
Why not have the View list of 'available columns' arranged alphabetically?
That would make sense.
To use 'search', you need to use these 'Views'.
I use search a lot. I would like it to be quick and convenient. This should be a 7-second, zip, zap, tailor the search view, select the columns you want, enter the search term. Then click 'Save' and search.
Instead, one has to rummage around a long list of items randomly arranged.
I am amazed that it isn't made easier, by alphabetizing the items.
This is a little unprofessional in usability terms
Can we have a fix, please?
I'd like more flexibility in categorizing Tasks
My tasks are not classifiable only by "open, closed, mine, today's, tomorrows, next 7 days", etc.
Sometimes I am in Bristol, sometimes I am in London, sometimes in Manila.
I want to meet different people in each place.
I want to be able to create a set of tasks: 'People to meet in London, when I next go there'
I can put the names in a desktop Word document, but I'd rather keep them in Zoho.
How to do it? It would be good to have the ability to create user-defined views in Tasks.
At the moment, my 'to meet in London' tasks are all mixed up with all the others.
There are perhaps workarounds like creating a new field and adding it to the Tasks layout.
But this is not an elegant solution.
These tasks will still stay mixed up with all the others, though no doubt you could use 'sort', to group together names classified as belonging to the category 'people to meet in London'
But I really want to add the Task 'to meet in London' as a custom view to the Home Page.
Without user-defined tasks, that isn't going to happen.
So, please - user-defined Task views, which I can then add as a Component to the Home Page.
Zoho CRM's export function seems to be limited to exporting the contents of a module. Can this really be true?
Why not allow Zoho CRM's users to export the results of a search?!?
If a database is large, exporting an entire module will be a lengthy process, due to Zoho CRM's restrictions on export size.
I am amazed that a search results export function isn't included. I would be most surprised if any other database or CRM exists which doesn't allow this. This is so obvious. If I want to email a group of people, I certainly don't want to export the whole database. I want to search, narrow down the results, and export the data to Excel and then to my mailer.
Please someone, tell me that I've got it wrong and that this function is in there, somewhere.
