Able to have IF-THEN conditional statements in templates?

Is it possible to have IF-THEN conditional statements in templates?  For example:

If {Products.Product Name} = "test" then {
     show {Products.Product Name}
}

After additional thought, I'm wondering if Javascript itself couldn't be used in the body of a template, as CRM simply renders the body of the template, correct?  I'll do some testing and let everyone know, but I don't know if Javascript could actually process data coming from the database...

Nope, the system stripped out any Javascript I added in the body of the template.  Now I'm wondering if I could source external Javascript...
